In researching H.R. 2966 and S. 2003, I think I may have discovered something
which reinforces my belief that the PALs (as I call them, the "Politically
Arrogant Lawyers") are my enemies. When my research on this aspect of the
legislation is completed, many of my readers may be interested to learn that
the PALs are their enemies, too.
The bills cited are those in the 106th Congress which would restore the
lifetime health care which was promised to military retirees if they served
20 years or more and earned retirement. This affects all who enlisted prior
to 1956 -- World War 2 and Korean War veterans mainly. Our government made
this promise to them: that if they would serve their country honorably,
going wherever they were sent, putting their lives and limbs in harm's way
whenever ordered to do so, spending as much of their time as directed away
from home and family, that one of the benefits they would earn would be
lifetime medical care for themselves and their spouses.
The greedy and the cowards and the fascists in Congress since 1956, many of
them lawyers, quietly managed to renege on this promise. We (I am one of
them, having become an Army Air Force pilot in World War 2) kept our part of
the bargain. I even served long enough to get shot at in Viet Nam.
We formed an association and filed suit (making the lawyers more money). A
federal judge (lawyer, of course) ruled against us. Our appeal is under
study by the Supreme Court (more lawyers).
H.R. 2966, introduced by Rep. Ronnie Shows of Mississippi, a brand new member
of the House (and a non-lawyer), now has 270 cosponsors signed up. I don't
need to rely on calculus or analytics to report to you that it takes only 218
votes in the House for a bill to pass, and that 270 members are 62% of the
possible votes; and that's within 20 votes (5% of the House) needed to
override a veto by the military- hate monger in the Oval Office.
Now, here's the focal point of this report to you: of Louisiana's two
senators, the one who is a lawyer has refused so far to sign S. 2003 as a
cosponsor. Of Louisiana's seven representatives, the three who have refused
to sign as cosponsors of H.R. 2866 are all lawyers. Does this tell you
anything?
Do some research for yourself. Then, you'll probably want to join "GLOOPO",
and help to Get Lawyers Out Of Public Office. You will be fighting the
conflict of interest which is taking away your money, your freedoms, and your
rights.
Remember: this will remain "the land of the free" only as long as it remains
"the home of the brave." Be brave enough to join GLOOPO.
